Capsule Software reviews.

Both the open-source and commercial world has had some interesting updates lately. Here are a few I've been playing with:

  • Firefox 2.0. Pros: Seems quicker and uses less memory. Integrated spell check. Slightly nicer graphics. Tabs redone to be newbie friendly. Cons: New huge tabs are a turn-off to power users. Fix: about:config > browser.tabs.tabMinWidth > 0
  • Internet Explorer 7Pros: Quicker, RSS integration, Safe Mode, better adherence to web standards, Tabbed browsing. Cons: Stability slightly iffy, horrible new interface.
  • Abiword 2.4.5. Pros: Grammar and dictionary with free plugin pack. Free. Cons: Still looks like a gnome app.

    Also my adblocker updated today.
