Incredible telepresence robot. This looks incredibly neat. Revealing the operator using a little optical camoflage is a really nice and somewhat creepy touch.

Planet of the Apes Watch: Humans in a zoo. Oh come on, they aren't naked and they get to go home at the end of the day? Maybe the next time a zoo tries this they can make them forage around for food, build a little shelter, and make them sign a waiver that they won't use any modern language. I think I just described Survivor.

NPR continues its decline towards the dark-side of the force. Wow, right-wing partisan Jonah Goldberg took Schorr's place this morning while Schorr is on vacation. At least Schorr is a real journalist. Goldberg is just a propagandist. I guess most people don't care about the difference.

Great Mr Wiggles this week. This has to be the best crass cartoon out there. Its crass but without falling for hackeneyed dick jokes.

Burt Rutan planning SpaceShip3 already. I'd be less skeptical if 2 flew, or was actually built, or anything by now. Why do I have the feeling that SpaceShipOne will just be a historical footnote and big players like Lockheed or someone will beat all these smaller companies to the punch once they get a decent sniff of space tourism dollars? I mean, we all know who the Wright Brothers were, but there's no Wright airlines.

The onion: Dave Matthews Not That Into Himself Anymore. Now that's good satire.

Matthews admitted that most of his current Dave Matthews listening is confined to overhearing a hit single on a jukebox or PA system. However, while doing dishes last weekend, he tried listening to 1998's Before These Crowded Streets, an album he had not heard in over two years. The singer admitted that by the fourth track, he was barely even listening.

"It sounded like this sort of worldbeat background drone," Matthews said. "So I took it off and put on some Stevie Ray Vaughan instead."

"Rock music with a violin? I don't know," Matthews added. "Seemed cool once."
