ASD is one of my favorite books, I hope they did a good job. Keanu Reeves is in this, I guess he has a thing for sci-fi, so I'm expecting lots of comments on how this is similiar to the matrix. Actually, the Matrix borrows heavilty from lots of sci-fi fare like the brain in a vat scenario, man vs. machine, etc. It looks like he's playing Bob Arctor, which is fine, as that character is a pretty passive and semi-boring guy to begin with. The casting looks pretty solid. Robert Downey Jr. as the crazed Barris, Woody Harrelson as the stoner Luckman, and Winona Ryder as love interest Donna.
