Download.com announces zero tolerance spyware policy. About time, they were probably the world's largest depository and vector of spyware.

How to make electro shoes. Neat little hack on how to make a shoe that will keep your skin charged with electricity so you can do a static-like shock on demand. -insert obligatory airport security joke here-

SNL has sucked since... amusing onion.com article. For me it would have to be when Hartman left or when Ferrell started phoning it in.

Intonation music festival. Its kinda like a ten-dollar alternative to Lollapalooza. Run by the people behind pitchforkmedia.com.

Kevin Smith spill the beans about Episode III. Its all spoilers, btw, but its a rave review which claims this is by far the darkest Star Wars movie. I am finding so many good things at digg.com its not even funny.

The Hubble space telescope turns 15. Space.com has the story, a couple new photos, and a nice little gallery. Its kinda odd how beautiful these photos look. Why does space look so aesthetically pleasing to us? Probably because celestial objects share the same characteristics of things we consider good looking like symmetry, colorful, etc. What's even more fun is staring into nebula photos and letting your mind wander just a bit and suddenly faces and other everyday things appear, like they did when I laid down in the grass and stared at clouds as a kid. I never saw the elephant, but I got an Abe Lincoln or two (thats what happens when you grow up in Illinois). The fractal patterns of nebula generate that same mental trick/illusion. Also, the Hubble is expected to live a couple more years.

Changing sleep patterns may mean early death. This is a bit startling. Seems that this is another stressor and, of course, stress kills.

Urine tests from workers on the split shift revealed that levels of melatonin, the sleep-regulating hormone normally secreted at night, did not become synchronised to the new sleep times after shift changes. As well as being more tired and less attentive on the job, these unadapted workers showed signs of being at risk of long-term health effects. The men had abnormally high levels of fatty acids circulating in their blood after meals, compared with the day shift or adapted workers. This increases the risk of heart disease, diabetes and other metabolic disorders. "The swing shift is the killer," says Arendt.

Rejected Transformers. Okay, this isn't a very good gallery, in fact its probably the worst one I've seen on worth1000, but you have to love the transformer made from a zamboni.
