Very clever optical illusion. I'm not sure how this works. I guess there are complimentary colors that you "see" after staring at something. Looks like someone took an "eyeball negative" of a photo to generate a really amazing optical illusion.

This illusion works because after staring at the same color for a length of time, the receptors in your eye responsible for detecting that color literally get tired, so your brain stops seeing that color as well in that part of your eye. Then, when you then look at something with an even mix of all of the colors (i.e. black white or gray), that color's compliment comes through much stronger (as those receptors are not tired), so it appears to be colored.
