Vintage Xmas tree. Gotta love these things. At one time it made perfect sense to say, "Screw decorating a real tree. What we need is a tree-looking thing made out of brushed aluminum and some kind of projecting color wheel."
That was my Grandmother's tree!! Silver, blue balls and a color wheel. Even as a little kid I thought it was weird - sort of "Santa Claus meets Lost in Space".
Thats the tree I grew up on! I always hated it...and even after we graduated to real trees my parents wouldnt get rid of it - I guess it was sort of sentimental being the first tree they bought together (at a yard sale no less for $5)...but it stuck around til this summer when I finally took it-broken branches, box and all out to the dumpster - the strangest thing is now I miss it!
