Burt Rutan planning SpaceShip3 already. I'd be less skeptical if 2 flew, or was actually built, or anything by now. Why do I have the feeling that SpaceShipOne will just be a historical footnote and big players like Lockheed or someone will beat all these smaller companies to the punch once they get a decent sniff of space tourism dollars? I mean, we all know who the Wright Brothers were, but there's no Wright airlines. Replies: 1 Comment Maybe, maybe not. Rutan has been around a while building freaky personal aircraft. Now he's moving into freaky spaceships. Lockheed (or another big player) will be the ones making the Space Busses and Spaceliners, but there will probably still be room for smaller players in the more personal spacecraft arena.
