Righteous kos on blogging the convention. Excerpt:
Fact is, blogs are about the only dash of "uncertainty" in this year's convention, which explains the rabid media interest in the story. I've done maybe a dozen media interviews since last Friday. And that's because we can't be controlled, and are not reliable vehicles for the party's "tightly controlled messages".Heck, if it was up to us, the party would follow our lead, rather than the other way around. Remember, it was the DCCC top leadership that was telling me a scant three months ago that we definitely wouldn't take back the House until 2012 at the earliest. It's only as of recently that they've been more optimistic.
So thank you very much, but we can think for ourselves. That's why I'm willing to boldly state that (progressive) bloggers will have the best coverage of the convention outside of the Daily Show.
