ALA banned books week wrapping up.
More like contested and challenged than banned. Last I checked only the FDA could censor materials in the US in a non-national security context like they tried with the herbal sweetner stevia and the writings of sexual liberation movement starter and controversial psychologist Wilhelm Reich. His books were literally burned in an incenerator by court order.

The FDA reserves the right to destroy materials it deems unfit for consumer consuption, but many contest that Reich was a victim of politics more than anything else. Regardless, challenged books in public schools and public libraries shoud be disclosed so we can see what the ideologues, isolationist parents, and religious groups are trying to control.
