Salon.com on the Bush Rev. Moon connection. 2004 couldn't come fast enough. The road to theocracy is paved with paying lip-service to maniacs like Moon. He is 100% against the Enlightenment and American ideals regarding freedom, yet there's Richard Lugar smiling in attendance. Amazing. Moon isn't an idiot he knows the "faith based" nonsense Bush has been peddling means money in the bank for his organization. Even worse, Danny Davis considers himself a progressive. Last I checked theocracy and destroying the wall between church and state was regression. last December, at his three-day God and World Peace event, the Rev. Sun Myung Moon drew a notable slate of political figures, from Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., to Rep. Danny Davis, D-Ill., and, perhaps most notably, James Towey, director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, who offered some respectful opening remarks to Moon's Unification Church faithful. Moon followed, and called for all religions to come together in support of the Bush plan for faith-based initiatives.
