Usually its explained with a 9 square grid, but her method is much easier to visualize and remember. The rest of the rules are good, but for me eight seems a little excessive. Its handy but at the same time its pretty disgraceful that the IRS hasn't setup its own web forms for simple returns like the 1040EZ. Paying a free for the priveldge of doing my taxes online and generating less work for the IRS is just wrong.
